Placement phase 1 at IIT Kharagpur is ongoing for the 2025 batch, and as many as 5 students have already received packages upwards of ₹2 crore. The highest salary package offered at IIT Kharagpur this year is ₹2.5 crore per year.
Key Highlights
According to the IIT KGP placement report, a total of 1,170 offers were received by Day 3, including 10 international offers, for the students at IIT KGP. 5 international offers are from Japan, 2 from Dubai, while the rest are from Europe, London, and Singapore. A total of over 3,000 students are registered for campus hiring in 2025, including UG, PG, and PhD students.
Five students in IIT have received offers of ₹2 crore and above, while seven received offers between ₹1-2 crore. DeepTech hiring in areas such as semiconductor design, AI infrastructure, and trading firms have emerged as aggressive recruiters in the IIT placements. Core sectors, including energy and aerospace, too are quite active.

The top recruiters here are giants like Apple, Google, Microsoft, Denso, Airbus, Boeing, Qualcomm, Nvidia, Goldman Sachs, JPMC, and Amazon. A significant number of pre-placement offers have also been received from summer internships. All these offers are for specialized roles.
Phase 1 will continue till December 12. In IIT Kharagpur placements, HFT firms and quantitative research companies are offering top packages. Students have been advised to focus on career growth along with salary.
