IIT BHU Placement 2025–26: 1005 Offers in 5 Days, 1.67 Cr Highest

IIT BHU placements for the 2025-26 batch have broken records right from the start. In the first five days of Phase 1 alone, 1005 job offers were received with the highest package reaching ₹1.67 crore per annum. This is the fastest start ever in IIT Varanasi placements with 209 offers from 55 top companies on Day 1 itself.

IIT BHU’s Training & Placement Cell reported that a total of 1701 students registered this year, out of which 1100 are BTech students. 17 students received packages of ₹1 crore or more on Day 1 with the minimum CTC starting at ₹47.19 LPA. The average package at IIT BHU in Phase 1 was ₹29.33 LPA which is a very strong indicator for engineering jobs.

Phase 1 gets off to a spectacular start: Key highlights

The placement season started from December 1 and within a mere five days, the placements at IIT BHU have surpassed the earlier records. It took 12 days earlier to touch the figure of 1000 offers but this year it was achieved in just 5 days. There were also 280 PPOs and 420 internship conversions.

“The skills and hard work by the students have impressed global recruiters,” said Director Prof. Amit Patra, underlining the momentum of the 2025-26 placements despite the recession.

IIT BHU Highest Package: 1.67 Crore Milestone

The highest package in Phase 1 of the 2025-26 placement season at IIT BHU was ₹1.67 crore for software and data science roles. Day 1 recruiters such as Data Bricks and DE Shaw made these offers. The competition is already high in this early phase compared to the ₹2.2 crore package of the previous season.

A CSE student shared, “I received a direct PPO from my summer internship and now my international role is confirmed.” These engineering jobs are focusing on AI/ML and quantitative trading.

IIT BHU Average Package and Branch Trends

So far, the average package at IIT BHU is a strong ₹29.33 LPA. CSE is leading with an estimated 35+ LPA, ECE/EE at 28-30 LPA and core branches like mechanical steady at 22-25 LPA. BTech placement rate is expected to be 90%+.

IIT Varanasi- While tech giants lead the chart in IIT Varanasi placements, there are multiple offers from Google, Microsoft, Amazon and Flipkart. From Finance, DE Shaw and Mastercard have also given high CTCs. More than 250 companies are expected this year, including PSUs and startups.

Future Outlook: Full Season Expectations

Phase 1 will continue till December 10th with full placements for the 2025-26 batch concluding by March 2026. According to experts, the total number of offers may cross 1500 with an average salary of 25-27 LPA. The AI ​​boom and strong alumni network will give an edge.
