NIT Admissions 2026: Step-by-Step JoSAA Process
NIT requires JEE Main 2026 to join. The counseling process of JoSAA starts in June-July 2026. A total of 127 institutes are a part of the counseling process including 31 NITs.
- Eligibility criteria for JEE Main (aggregate of 75% in Class 12 for general category).
- Registration is done on the JoSAA website at josaa.nic.in.
- Fill in your preferences (prefer NITs and branches).
- Seats are allocated in 6 rounds.
- Check your documentation and pay the charges.
Home state quota and All India Rank contribute 50% of the total seats. With respect to the cutoff rank of top NITs for admission to CSE, it was between rank 1000-5000 for the year 2025.
